Sam Dennehy, who has served as director of political affairs for a number of years, will be leaving the Federation having recently graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington. The Federation congratulates Sam and wishes him well.

“Sam is one of our longest serving and hardest working members, known for his ability to run premier voter registration operations. I am grateful for his service to the Federation and the long lasting friendship that has come from our working together. He will be missed,” said Joe Casino, the Federation’s president. “McKenzie has proven herself to be one of our Federation’s greatest assets. Her passion for our organization and her advocacy for rural voices in our politics are unmatched. She will make an excellent director and I look forward to her confirmation by the Council.”

McKenzie is the president of the ACU Democrats and has worked multiple campaigns in her community. She is a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in political science at Abilene Christian University.

Her confirmation is scheduled for the Council meeting in February.
